I am Shahid Alam, a longtime member of AABEA Family in southern California Chapter. Previously, I have served as President Elect, General Secretary, and CEC Representative of AABEA. Understanding the need to uphold the Sothern California Chapter’s mission & vision of Education, Society, and Charity, I have devoted and committed as a current President working with smart cabinet members along with community organizations and individuals. I have also served as Delegate of Professional Engineer in California Government (PECG) in orange county section in 2019. I am a Khulna University of Engineering Technology (KUET) Civil Engineering undergraduate and California State University Graduate degree holder in Construction Management. I am a licensed Professional Engineer working for the California Department of Transportation – Caltrans for the last 22 years as Transportation Engineer. Apart from AABEA, I am also very much involved with Communities through Bangladesh Unity Federation of Los Angeles (BUFLA), where I served as Vice President & General Secretary. I have passion in singing, recitation, poetry, acting, and writing. I am married with my very supportive and advising wife who is a US Federal Government servicer with the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service. I am a proud father of one adult 22-year-old son and teenaged 13-year-old boy.

Mohammed Mahibur Rais completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1989 from BUET, Bangladesh. He has been working as a Senior Service Engineer in the Service Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific for last 19 years. His fields of specializations are Ion Chromatography and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. He is happily married to his wife Dr. Umme Ruman Rais and lives in Castaic with their two sons. He loves writing reading books, traveling, spending time with friends and family.

Born in June 27th, 1964, Rana Hassan Mahmud studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BUET, studied M.Sc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Irvine. Worked at Astro Solutions Inc, Image Systems Inc, Canon Business Solutions, presently serving as Consultant to Texod Inc, Dallas and Charter Pacific Ltd., Hong Kong. Father of two young adults, Rana Mahmud likes non-fictions, poems, classic movies, golden era songs, in indoor and outdoor sports and active with community organizations.

My name is Mikayeel Khan, and I am a Software Engineer at Reformation Inc (Ref.). I am an accomplished coder and programmer. I enjoy using my skills to contribute to the exciting technological advances that happen every day at Ref. I attended primary school at St. Placid School in Chittagong, Bangladesh, and High School from Shiva Shivani Public school in Delhi, India. A graduate from the Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Obtained a second bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Poona, India. Currently, I am Elected (2nd term) Pacoima Neighborhood Council Board Member and Land Use Committee Chairman in the City of Los Angeles. Director of Jasmin Khan Foundation Inc. Convenor, for ‘Banglar Bijoy Bohor’ Los Angeles, Inc' and ‘Pacific Kite Club Inc', bringing all diverse cultures within LA County. I enjoy advocating highly for local communities working alongside local constituents to create change—most known for working alongside my local politicians, Congressman, Assemblywoman, Senator, and Councilwoman. I enjoy watching sci-fi movies and eating seafood at local California restaurants.

I studied Bachelor of Computer Information Systems from Concordia University, Canada and Master’s in Information Systems from Bridgewater State University, Massachusetts. Earlier, I completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Dhaka University. I worked more than 20 years IT sectors in many leading corporations including Scholastic, Havas, and Qualcomm. Currently, I am working as Business Intelligence Engineer at Nitto Hydronic, San Diego. I love social work. I am Founding Director of HelpAHand.org and President of San Diego Bangladesh Association. I love drawing cartoons, writing poems for many National and International newspapers. My another passion is portrait photography.

Zebunnesa A. Tareque, a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California is a life-time member of AABEA. She is a Senior Transportation Engineer in the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), District 7, Los Angeles. She completed her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2000 and Master of Engineering in Integrated Water Resources Management from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in 2003. She has 16 years of working experience in the field of Civil Engineering in USA, Bangladesh and Thailand. She lives in Orange County and has a 12-year-old daughter.

Undergraduate Degree from CA State University, Los Angeles in Electrical Engineering, 1997.Graduate Degree from CA State University, Los Angeles in Management & International Marketing, 2001.Worked for Intel, Inc as Hardware Compliance and Testing Engineer, 1997 – 2003.Worked as a Consultant for South American (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile & Ecuador) Compliance Specialist for Tele Communication product Certifiation at Net Connection, Inc & Xircom, Inc., 2000 - 2003.Since 2003, I am a Franchise & Business Owner of 23 locations of 2 different national Fast Food Restaurant brands in CA & NV. I have been a spokesperson for my QSR Brand to new Franchises and a Panelist in Multi Unit Franchising Conference in Las Vegas, NV for multiple years.

Mr. Ismail Hossain is a focused Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Power System, Electronics, and Communication Engineering. He completed his Diploma in Electrical Technology from Cumilla Polytechnic Institute, (BTEB), Bangladesh. He went at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) for two years and then abroad in USA at year of 2007. Ismail Hossain completed his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from California State University Los Angeles (CalStateLA), CA. Currently Mr. Ismail Hossain working as an Assistant Resident Engineer at California Department of Transportation, Thousand Oaks, CA. He experienced as a Test engineer at MGM Transformer Manufacturing Company at City of Commerce, CA, Student Engineer intern for at Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), and Student Engineer at General Electric Manufacturing Company, Chittagong, Bangladesh. He is married and father of two kids Khalid Saifullah, and Ilaria Isra.

Zainul Abedin is the president of Environmental Engineering, Inc, in Los Angeles, California. He graduated B.Eng in 1976 from Punjab Agricultural University, India in Agricultural Engineering. Later he attended Washington State University, University of Alberta, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada for Masters of Civil/ Environmental Engineering’s. He obtained PhD in Civil Engineering from Kensington State University in 1993. Dr Abedin has been executing environmental Site assessment & audit, impact studies, underground storage tank removal & replacement, soil & groundwater investigation & remediation, and asbestos, lead, mold and hazardous materials mitigation projects in the Los Angeles Basin since 1990. Worked for World Bank & IDA Projects in Bangladesh and Nigeria in the past. The Bush Administration appointed Dr. Abedin to the Regulatory Fairness Board of the US Small Business Administration during 2006-2009 and served as the Chairman of the Regulatory Fairness Board during 2007-8, Region IX, US SBA.
